Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Urgent Care Veterinarian to join a newly developing veterinary practice focused on delivering timely, high-quality treatment for companion animals requiring prompt medical attention. This exciting opportunity allows a confident clinician to become involved from the earliest stages of practice development, helping to establish clinical workflows, influence patient care standards and contribute to a positive working environment. The position is ideally suited to a veterinarian who enjoys the variety of urgent care medicine while maintaining professional independence and benefiting from experienced clinical support.
The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload of medical presentations that require more immediate attention than routine veterinary appointments but do not necessarily require intensive emergency hospitalisation. Responsibilities include assessing urgent cases, performing diagnostic investigations, developing appropriate treatment plans and communicating clearly with pet owners throughout the care process. Working alongside an experienced leadership team and dedicated veterinary support professionals, the role provides opportunities to shape clinical operations, strengthen client relationships and contribute to the continued development of veterinary services without overnight working commitments.
In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Assess and prioritise patients presenting with urgent medical concerns, establishing appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans.
- Help develop efficient clinical workflows and contribute to the delivery of consistent, high-quality veterinary services.
- Provide clear explanations of diagnostic findings, treatment recommendations and follow-up care to pet owners.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support professionals to coordinate patient management and maintain effective clinical communication.
- Exercise independent clinical judgement while contributing to a welcoming and supportive working environment.
Qualifications Needed:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent recognised veterinary qualification.
- Current Colorado veterinary licence in good standing or eligibility to obtain the appropriate professional registration.
- Previous veterinary experience with the confidence to assess and manage urgent companion animal presentations.
- Excellent communication and clinical decision-making abilities, with a compassionate approach to patient and client care.
- A collaborative attitude and enthusiasm for contributing to the development of a new veterinary practice.
Package:
- Opportunity to join a newly established urgent care practice and influence its clinical direction, working procedures and patient care standards.
- Full-time or part-time working arrangements available, with no overnight shift requirements.
- Monthly production-based bonus opportunities with no negative accrual.
- Comprehensive medical, dental and vision insurance coverage, alongside additional healthcare benefits and virtual medical consultations.
- Employer-matched 401(k) retirement savings contributions and short-term and long-term disability insurance.
- Annual continuing education funding with dedicated paid professional development days.
- Structured mentorship, professional leadership development opportunities and support for individual clinical interests.
- Employer-funded professional liability insurance providing additional protection during veterinary practice.
- Paid maternity leave provisions and access to experienced clinical colleagues for professional guidance.
- Varied urgent care caseload, substantial clinical autonomy and opportunities to help establish a positive and collaborative working environment.
