Job Description: Our client is seeking a dedicated emergency and urgent care veterinarian to support a 24/7 emergency veterinary service focused on high-acuity small animal medicine. You will be part of a team addressing unpredictable and critical health situations, delivering timely diagnoses and treatments that make a real difference in urgent patient outcomes. 

In this role, you will work in a fast-paced environment where rapid assessment, decisive action, and clear client communication are central to exceptional care. The position encompasses a range of emergency procedures, intensive monitoring, and collaboration with support staff to ensure each patient receives attentive, life-saving intervention when it matters most. 

In this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluating and stabilizing pets in urgent and life-threatening conditions  
  • Performing emergency surgeries, trauma management, and anesthesia care  
  • Utilizing diagnostic tools including radiology, ultrasound, and lab testing  
  • Managing intensive care cases with effective monitoring and treatment planning  

Qualifications Needed:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent  
  • Licensure or eligibility for licensure in Ontario  
  • Comfortable making critical decisions under pressure  
  • Excellent communication skills with pet owners and team members
