Small Animal Emergency Veterinarian Job, Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts, USA

Job Description: Our client is seeking a confident and experienced Emergency Veterinarian to join a busy, multidisciplinary emergency and specialty referral setting. This opportunity is ideally suited to a clinician who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys managing complex medical and surgical emergencies and values working alongside experienced specialists. With access to more than 20 specialists across eight disciplines, the successful candidate will benefit from extensive clinical expertise, advanced diagnostic resources and a strong emphasis on collaborative patient care.

The position involves providing emergency veterinary services across two clinical locations, with opportunities to manage challenging presentations while supporting the development of veterinary interns, residents and nursing professionals. An established clinical team includes more than 60 veterinary technicians, dedicated veterinary assistants and administrative support professionals. Planned facility enhancements, including additional surgical suites, MRI, fluoroscopy and expanded specialist departments, provide exciting opportunities for continued clinical advancement.

Qualifications Needed:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Medical Doctor or an equivalent recognised veterinary qualification.
  • Previous emergency veterinary experience or completion of a relevant veterinary internship is essential.
  • Eligibility to obtain the appropriate veterinary licence to practise in Massachusetts.
  • Strong diagnostic reasoning and the ability to remain composed when managing critically ill or unstable patients.
  • Excellent communication skills with an interest in clinical teaching, collaborative medicine and professional development.

Package:

  • Full-time working arrangements based on a four-day week, incorporating a variety of emergency shift patterns.
  • Generous signing incentive alongside additional earning potential through a pooled production bonus arrangement.
  • Access to experienced specialists across multiple disciplines and highly skilled veterinary nursing professionals.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision and life insurance benefits for eligible employees.
  • Professional development allowances with opportunities to participate in clinical teaching and mentorship programmes.
  • Paid annual leave and recognised holidays to support time away from clinical responsibilities.
  • Veterinary licensing expenses, professional association dues and DEA registration costs reimbursed.
  • Professional liability insurance, veterinary information resources and access to specialist online medical publications provided.
  • Complimentary pet insurance premiums for up to two personal pets, subject to applicable benefit arrangements.
  • Dedicated clinical assistance for medical documentation and opportunities to work with expanding diagnostic and surgical facilities.
