Job Description: Our client is seeking an Overnight Emergency Veterinarian to provide high-level care for small animal patients presenting with urgent and complex medical needs. This position offers the opportunity to manage a diverse emergency caseload using advanced diagnostic resources including MRI, CT, ultrasound, fluoroscopy and comprehensive in-house laboratory capabilities.
The successful veterinarian will work closely with experienced emergency clinicians and specialists across internal medicine, cardiology, surgery, neurology and dermatology. Strong clinical judgement, confident communication and the ability to remain composed when managing critically unwell patients will be important. Experienced emergency veterinarians are encouraged to apply, while mentorship opportunities also make the position accessible to new graduates interested in developing their emergency medicine skills.
In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Triage and manage emergency presentations while developing appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans
- Perform urgent procedures and surgery where clinically indicated
- Communicate clearly with pet owners regarding findings, treatment options and ongoing patient care
- Oversee hospitalised cases and maintain thorough, timely medical documentation
- Coordinate with specialists and emergency colleagues when patients require multidisciplinary management
