Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Emergency Veterinarian to join a busy 24/7 emergency and critical care setting, taking an important role in the management of hospitalised and ICU patients. The successful veterinarian will handle a broad emergency caseload including trauma, gastrointestinal disease, toxicities, respiratory distress, endocrine emergencies and other critically ill patients requiring immediate intervention.
This position carries significant clinical responsibility, particularly during overnight shifts when independent decision-making and confidence managing complex cases are essential. The veterinarian will also support outpatient emergencies, perform emergency soft tissue procedures and provide clinical guidance to colleagues who are developing their emergency medicine experience.
Qualifications Needed:
- Veterinary degree with eligibility for licensure in Ontario
- Previous emergency or critical care experience strongly preferred
- Confidence working independently during overnight emergency shifts
- Competence managing hospitalised patients and making time-sensitive clinical decisions
- Strong communication skills with a collaborative and supportive approach to colleagues
