Small Animal Associate Veterinarian Job, Windsor, Nova Scotia, Canada

Small Animal Associate Veterinarian Job, Windsor, Nova Scotia, Canada

Job Description: Our client is seeking a compassionate Small Animal Associate Veterinarian to join a collaborative and mentorship-focused team providing high-quality care across a varied caseload. This opportunity is well suited to an experienced veterinarian or a new graduate looking for structured guidance, supportive colleagues, and the chance to build confidence across everyday clinical work.

The successful candidate will primarily manage small animal consultations, preventative care, diagnostics, medical cases, and routine procedures. There is also the option to gain exposure to equine medicine for veterinarians with an interest in developing broader clinical experience, although equine work is not a requirement of the position.

The role places a strong emphasis on client education, long-term patient relationships, and clear communication. With no small animal on-call responsibilities and access to nearby emergency providers, the incoming veterinarian can focus on delivering thoughtful daytime care while maintaining a healthy professional balance.

Qualifications Needed:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or an equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Current Nova Scotia veterinary licence or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Commitment to compassionate, high-quality veterinary care.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Collaborative attitude with enthusiasm for continued learning.
  • Comfort managing a primarily small animal caseload.
  • New graduates and experienced veterinarians are encouraged to apply.

Package:

  • Competitive salary with performance-related bonus potential.
  • Comprehensive health and wellbeing benefits.
  • Generous continuing education allowance.
  • Paid professional licensing fees.
  • Professional veterinary information membership provided.
  • Paid vacation entitlement.
  • Generous personal pet care policy.
  • Structured mentorship suitable for newly qualified veterinarians.
  • No small animal on-call requirements.
  • Emergency coverage supported by nearby 24-hour hospitals.
  • Opportunity to develop equine experience if desired.
  • Supportive team culture focused on learning and professional growth.
