Small Animal Associate Veterinarian Job, Turangi, Waikato, New Zealand

Job Description: Our client is seeking a Small Animal Associate Veterinarian to join a close-knit, community-focused clinic delivering high-quality companion animal care in a supportive regional setting. This role is ideally suited to a veterinarian who values teamwork, enjoys building genuine client relationships, and appreciates working in an environment where collaboration and approachability are part of everyday practice.

The position is predominantly companion animal focused, with the opportunity to manage a broad range of consultations and routine procedures. Occasional basic equine cases may arise, however support is always available, and comfort with this aspect is flexible. The clinic operates with a strong culture of shared learning, open communication, and accessible clinical backup, allowing veterinarians to work confidently while continuing to grow professionally.

This opportunity would suit a veterinarian looking to contribute meaningfully to a local community while enjoying a balanced workload, strong peer support, and a welcoming team dynamic.

Qualifications Needed:

  • Veterinary degree eligible for registration in New Zealand
  • Experience or confidence in small animal general practice
  • Willingness to work collaboratively and seek support when required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to delivering consistent, patient-centred care

Package:

  • Remuneration structured to reflect experience and clinical contribution
  • Supportive team environment with access to peer guidance when needed
  • Balanced workload designed to support long-term sustainability
  • Opportunities to engage in meaningful community-based veterinary work
  • Professional development encouraged through supported learning
  • A welcoming clinic culture that values teamwork and wellbeing
  • Exposure to a varied companion animal caseload
  • Stability within a well-established regional practice
  • A role offering both professional fulfilment and lifestyle balance
