Small Animal Associate Veterinarian Job, Tillsonburg, Ontario, Canada

Small Animal Associate Veterinarian Job, Tillsonburg, Ontario, Canada

Job Description: Our client is seeking a fully licensed Veterinarian to join a long-established, privately owned practice providing comprehensive care across a varied caseload. The position involves treating dogs and cats alongside small mammals, exotic pets, and avian patients, offering excellent clinical variety for a veterinarian who enjoys both general practice medicine and less routine presentations.

The successful candidate will take an active role across consultations, diagnostic investigations, preventive healthcare, dentistry, nutritional guidance, and soft tissue surgery. There is also the opportunity to assess and manage exotic cases and participate in the emergency service rota, making this particularly suitable for a confident clinician who enjoys maintaining a broad range of practical skills.

With more than three decades of service to the local community, this opportunity offers significant clinical independence alongside experienced veterinary colleagues and support staff. Continued learning is encouraged, with scope to share knowledge through mentoring veterinary students or interns while continuing to strengthen medical and surgical expertise.

Qualifications Needed:

  • Full veterinary licence permitting independent practice in Ontario
  • Strong competence in general medicine, dentistry, preventive healthcare, and soft tissue surgery
  • Confidence assessing and performing diagnostic workups for a varied small animal caseload
  • Experience or a genuine clinical interest in exotic and avian medicine would be advantageous
  • Clear interpersonal skills and the ability to work constructively alongside veterinary support staff

Package:

  • Opportunity to work within a privately owned and long-established veterinary setting
  • Broad caseload covering dogs, cats, small mammals, exotic species, and avian patients
  • Hands-on involvement in soft tissue surgery and dental procedures
  • Exposure to emergency cases through a shared clinical rota
  • Access to in-house diagnostic and radiography capabilities
  • Scope to develop further experience in exotic animal medicine
  • Continuing professional learning and attendance at relevant educational events encouraged
  • Opportunity to mentor veterinary students or interns as part of their clinical development
  • Combination of preventive, medical, diagnostic, surgical, and nutritional casework
  • Full-time or part-time working options available
