Job Description: Our client is seeking a capable and compassionate Small Animal Associate Veterinarian to join a busy veterinary environment serving the Smithfield and Cairns Northern Beaches community. The role is ideal for a vet who enjoys handling a broad range of small animal cases and building strong relationships with both clients and their pets. You’ll be supported by a close-knit support team and encouraged to grow your clinical confidence in a variety of general practice scenarios.

This opportunity involves offering high standards of care across routine consultations, diagnostics, and procedures, with an emphasis on thoughtful communication and continuity of care. In this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting regular health assessments and preventative care consultations for dogs, cats, and small animals  
  • Interpreting diagnostic findings and recommending tailored treatment plans  
  • Assisting with basic surgical procedures and post-operative management  
  • Communicating treatment options clearly to pet owners and answering questions  
  • Coordinating with support staff to ensure cohesive patient care delivery

Qualifications Needed:

  • Veterinary degree recognised for practice in Australia and eligibility for local registration  
  • Comfortable with general practice case management and routine surgical duties  
  • Excellent communication skills with pet owners and team members  
  • Enthusiasm for practising high standards of medicine and learning new approaches
