Job Description: Our client is seeking a personable and clinically driven Associate Veterinarian to join a busy companion animal practice where skilled nursing assistance and modern diagnostic facilities support the delivery of excellent veterinary care. With six Registered Veterinary Technicians providing valuable clinical assistance, the position allows veterinarians to concentrate on patient assessments, treatment planning and maintaining consistently high standards of medicine.
The role offers a varied caseload primarily involving dogs and cats, with opportunities to gain exposure to pocket pets and exotic species through colleagues who have additional experience in these areas. Available equipment includes digital radiography, dental imaging and ultrasound, enabling thorough diagnostic investigations and effective clinical decision-making. Hands-free radiology techniques further support safe working practices, while access to continuing education and professional development resources encourages veterinarians to expand their knowledge and pursue individual clinical interests.
In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Undertake thorough consultations and develop appropriate medical plans for companion animals presenting with a variety of healthcare needs.
- Interpret diagnostic findings and utilise available imaging equipment to guide treatment recommendations.
- Work closely with registered veterinary technicians to coordinate procedures, patient monitoring and ongoing clinical care.
- Provide clear explanations to pet owners regarding preventative medicine, treatment options and follow-up requirements.
- Participate in clinical discussions and pursue further learning opportunities across general practice and additional species where appropriate.
