Small Animal Associate Veterinarian Job, Papakura, Auckland, New Zealand

Job Description: Our client is seeking a companion animal veterinarian to join a busy, community-focused practice offering a diverse medical and surgical caseload. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced clinicians, including veterinarians with advanced professional qualifications, while receiving encouragement to develop individual clinical interests. This permanent opportunity also includes involvement in service dog care, occasional shifts at a nearby satellite clinic and rostered weekend work on a proportionate basis.

Qualifications Needed:

  • A veterinary degree recognised by the Veterinary Council of New Zealand
  • Current registration or eligibility to practise as a veterinarian in New Zealand
  • A strong commitment to high-quality companion animal medicine
  • Confident communication skills and the ability to build lasting client relationships
  • Enthusiasm for shared learning and continued clinical development

In this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a varied caseload of consultations, diagnostics and surgical procedures
  • Creating practical treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs
  • Supporting low-stress care for feline and canine patients
  • Contributing to service dog health assessments and ongoing veterinary care
  • Providing occasional clinical cover at nearby locations when required
