Job Description: Our client is seeking a Small Animal Associate Veterinarian to join a highly regarded companion animal practice where medical autonomy and consistent clinical standards are strongly supported. The position offers the chance to manage a full spectrum of first-opinion care, including diagnostics, treatment planning, preventative medicine, surgery and ongoing patient management.

The role would suit a veterinarian who values evidence-based medicine, dependable clinical resources and opportunities to keep developing professionally. With strong technician support, structured mentorship and access to internal specialty input when needed, the successful candidate can approach more complex cases with confidence while continuing to build long-term relationships with clients.

Qualifications Needed:

  • DVM degree from an accredited veterinary program
  • Current Illinois veterinary licence in good standing, or eligibility to obtain
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of small animal medicine
  • Strong client communication and treatment-planning skills
  • Collaborative approach with a positive and professional attitude

In this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead diagnostic workups and create clear treatment plans for small animal patients
  • Educate clients on preventative care, medical findings and ongoing health needs
  • Work closely with credentialed technicians and support staff on patient management
  • Maintain strong clinical judgement across routine and more involved cases
  • Contribute to a learning-focused environment through case discussion and shared knowledge
