Job Description: Our client is seeking a skilled and compassionate Associate Veterinarian to join a long-established, AAHA-accredited small animal practice providing comprehensive veterinary medicine and exceptional patient care. A dedicated veterinary technician-to-doctor ratio of approximately 2:1 allows veterinarians to concentrate on clinical decision-making and patient care, while experienced management and a collaborative working environment encourage continued professional development and clinical excellence.
In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Undertake thorough patient examinations, investigate medical concerns and formulate appropriate treatment strategies for companion animals.
- Perform surgical and dental procedures while ensuring excellent standards of anaesthetic monitoring and postoperative patient management.
- Coordinate with experienced veterinary technicians to maintain efficient patient care, accurate clinical records and effective treatment protocols.
- Explain diagnostic findings, preventative healthcare recommendations and therapeutic options clearly to pet owners.
- Contribute to clinical case discussions, daily patient assessments and the continued improvement of veterinary procedures and client services.
Qualifications Needed:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or Veterinary Medical Doctor degree from an accredited veterinary institution.
- Current Florida veterinary licence in good standing, together with the ability to obtain and maintain the necessary DEA registration.
- At least one year of veterinary practice experience, demonstrating confidence in diagnostic investigations, clinical decision-making and companion animal medicine.
- Strong practical surgical and dental skills, supported by a compassionate approach to patient handling and medical treatment.
- Excellent interpersonal communication abilities and enthusiasm for collaborative working, professional mentorship and continued clinical development.
