Job Details: The owner of this fantastic practice graduated from veterinary school in Moscow, Russia and then came to the OVC in Guelph, ON. She works with exotic pet care, cats and dogs and does appointments, all soft tissue surgery and dentals as well! She is progressive and believes in providing pets with the best care. This Hospital is one of the only Fear Free and AAHA hospitals in the area. 

Team:

  • Currently 1 DVM, but looking to add on another DVM to work with her
  • 2 RVTs
  • 2 VAs (exam room assistants)
  • 3 Receptionists

Equipment: Fully equipped with digital radiography (body and dental), in house lab, surgical suite

Facility: Large spacious modern practice with 3 exam rooms and opportunity for the DVM to have their own office! 

Mentorship: The owner believes in full service mentorship including having the DVM shadow her during appointments, surgeries, treatments etc AND also having her shadow the DVM for appointments and surgeries to provide pointers. She will be available and working alongside the other DVM, so that they can always bounce cases off of each other. 

About: This Hospital is one of the most progressive practices in the Trenton area, located in the Prince Edward County area where many people have cottages by the lakeside! The owner believes in efficiency, and has trained the team to support the DVMs with everything they do! 

Workflow:

  • Exam Room Coordinator gets the pet, TPR and brief history
  • DVM goes in to do the physical exam and recommendations, whie the Exam Room Coordinator is typing the medical records for the DVM
  • DVM does not talk about pricing, the Exam Room Coordinator goes over invoice and pricing with the client
  • Exam room coordinator will work with RVTs to do diagnostics, and then RVTs will coordinate with DVMs to go over treatments needed. 
  • DVM will go over treatments needed with the client, but the Exam Room Coordinator will be there to type notes and review the invoice with the client. 
  • RVTs do all of the surgery pre and post procedures. They support with all diagnostics, so DVM just focuses on medicine! 
  • The practice manager is incredible, fast, efficient and gets things done for the team. 
  • Well oiled team, that all love their jobs!

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm! No weekends, no evenings, no on call!

Signing Bonus: $20,000

Salary: $130,000+ production bonus

Accommodation: If you’re coming from out of the province/country, the practice are happy to pay for 2 months of rent until you find a place to live!
