Small Animal Associate Veterinarian Job, Mamaroneck, New York, USA

Job Description: Our client is seeking a compassionate and experienced Associate Veterinarian to deliver comprehensive medical care for dogs, cats and occasional exotic or pocket-pet patients. The position offers access to digital and dental radiography, ultrasound, cold laser therapy, advanced anaesthetic monitoring, an in-house laboratory and a fully equipped dental suite.

The successful candidate will join an established clinical team and manage cases from initial examination through diagnosis, treatment and discharge. This role would suit a confident veterinarian who values high clinical standards, effective client education and collaborative decision-making.

In this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough examinations and developing appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans
  • Performing surgical, dental and medical procedures within professional competency
  • Educating pet owners clearly about clinical findings, medications and follow-up care
  • Monitoring hospitalised patients and helping maintain consistent standards from admission to discharge
  • Keeping complete medical records while following pharmacy and controlled-medication protocols

Qualifications Needed:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or Veterinary Medical Doctor degree from an accredited institution
  • Current New York veterinary licence in good standing
  • Active DEA registration or willingness to obtain and maintain it
  • At least one year of experience within a veterinary practice
  • Strong diagnostic, surgical, dental and interpersonal communication skills

Package:

  • No routine weekend shifts
  • Signing and retention incentives available
  • Production-based bonus structure with no negative accrual
  • Medical, dental and vision insurance coverage
  • Paid parental leave for birth, adoption or foster placement
  • Retirement plan with discretionary employer contributions
  • Continuing education funding and career-development resources
  • Employee discounts on veterinary services for personal pets
  • Access to financial assistance during qualifying personal hardship
  • Modern diagnostic, surgical and dental equipment
