Job Details: Welcome to this upcoming Cats and Dogs only clinic, nestled in the heart of Houston, Texas. The fourth largest city in the USA.  

Type of Practice: Cats and Dogs Only Clinic
Number of DVMs/RVTs/Support Staff: As they prepare to launch, the number of DVMs, RVTs, and support staff will be adaptable to ensure the success and well-being of their team members. 

Develop a rapport with clients and determine their needs and wishes; perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures in a way that will deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort. 

Explain physical examination findings and communicate to the client a diagnosis of the pet’s problems; generate and present a treatment plan for the pet to the client; educate clients on preventative health care, including vaccines and appropriate nutritional products. 

Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and make certain all necessary logs are kept up-to- date through established protocols; assist colleagues in follow-up and future management of the patient. 

Stay up-to-date with new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine, attend Continuing Education meetings. 

Assist in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure the delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service. 

Positively represent the hospital in the professional community and to the general public. Treat every client like family and each patient like your own pet.

Requirements:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university.
  • Licensure in good standing to practice in the state of in which applicant is applying.
  • Professional comportment and appearance, with excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, friendly attitude. 
  • The ability to make decisions and communicate clearly and effectively with fellow team members. Respect for and willingness to work with clients and their pets.
  • Compassionate team player who can uphold great reputation with clients.
    A commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine, upholding the veterinary code of ethics. Proficiency in surgery a plus. 

Schedule/Clinic Opening Hours: Their clinic will operate from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, offering extended hours to accommodate the needs of their community. While they may not be a 24-hour facility, they take pride in being one of the only upcoming urgent care facilities in Houston, Texas. 

Level of Experience Needed: They prefer candidates with 2-3 years of experience, but they enthusiastically welcome new graduates who possess a strong dedication to their craft. 

Specialist Skills of Interest/Qualifications: They are looking for an individual who not only possesses exceptional veterinary skills but also embodies a friendly and charismatic demeanor. Teamwork, conscientiousness, and a strong work ethic are values they hold dear. 

Available Equipment: Their clinic boasts state-of-the-art, modern facilities, where every piece of equipment will be new, ensuring that their team has access to the latest tools to provide superior care. 

Package:

  • Competitive total compensation package of up to $150,000 (Depending on Experience), reflecting their commitment to attracting the best talent in the field. 
  • Possibility of a $15,000 signing bonus and $600 a month in living expense relocation support. 
  • Continuing education allowance.  
  • Possible 401k retirement savings plan after one year of service. 
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
