Small Animal Associate Veterinarian Job, Grand Prairie, Texas, USA

Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Small Animal Associate Veterinarian to join a busy multi-doctor setting with a varied first-opinion caseload. This opportunity would suit a clinician who enjoys surgery, comprehensive medical work-ups, preventative care, and developing long-term relationships with clients. With an established client base and experienced support staff, the position provides scope to practice with confidence while maintaining strong continuity of care.

The caseload offers a healthy combination of wellness appointments, diagnostic investigations, medical cases, dentistry, and surgical procedures, including exposure to orthopaedic work. Ongoing facility improvements also provide an opportunity for the successful veterinarian to contribute ideas regarding clinical equipment and resources. Continuing education and the development of individual professional interests are actively encouraged.

In this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing comprehensive examinations, diagnostic investigations, and treatment planning
  • Managing routine surgical and dental procedures within individual clinical competency
  • Educating clients clearly on diagnoses, preventative healthcare, and treatment recommendations
  • Maintaining accurate medical records and prescribing medications in accordance with current requirements
  • Working collaboratively with clinical and operational colleagues to maintain efficient patient care

Qualifications Needed:

  • DVM or VMD degree from an accredited veterinary institution
  • Current Texas veterinary license or eligibility to obtain appropriate state licensure
  • At least one year of veterinary practice experience preferred
  • Strong medical, diagnostic, surgical, and dental capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with confidence communicating with both clients and colleagues

Package:

  • Signing and retention incentives of up to $50,000
  • Production-based earning potential with a no-negative-accrual structure
  • Continuing education stipend supporting ongoing clinical development
  • Veterinary licensing and professional dues reimbursement
  • 401(k) retirement plan participation
  • Employee discounts on veterinary care for personal pets
  • Opportunity to contribute to equipment decisions during ongoing facility improvements
  • Predictable clinical scheduling within an established home hospital setting
  • Experienced support staff and a strong veterinarian-to-support-team ratio
  • Scope to pursue individual clinical interests and further professional development
