Small Animal Associate Veterinarian Job, Granbury, Texas, USA

Job Description: Our client is seeking an Associate Veterinarian who enjoys the variety of general practice alongside same-day urgent care medicine. This position is well suited to a clinician who values strong client relationships, varied medical cases, surgical opportunities, and the chance to work confidently across both routine and more time-sensitive presentations.

The successful veterinarian will join an experienced and collaborative clinical team offering excellent opportunities for mentorship and continued development. The role provides considerable medical autonomy while maintaining access to experienced colleagues, making it suitable for both established veterinarians and motivated newer graduates looking to strengthen their clinical confidence.

A flexible schedule can be considered, with full-time and part-time options available. The preferred rota includes Thursday, Friday, and Saturday coverage, with Saturdays focused on urgent care cases without overnight or holiday shifts.

In this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage routine consultations alongside same-day urgent and medically complex presentations
  • Perform general surgical procedures and provide appropriate follow-up care
  • Assess and treat cases including wounds, minor lacerations, and acute medical conditions
  • Develop trusted relationships with pet owners through clear and compassionate communication
  • Work collaboratively with experienced veterinary colleagues while exercising sound clinical judgement

Qualifications Needed:

  • DVM degree or equivalent veterinary qualification
  • Eligible to hold the appropriate veterinary licence to practise in Texas
  • Confident managing a varied small animal medical and surgical caseload
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a patient-focused approach to veterinary care
  • Adaptable clinician who values continued learning and professional development

Package:

  • Flexible full-time or part-time scheduling arrangements
  • Generous continuing education allowance with additional professional development opportunities
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance options
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching of up to 5%
  • Paid time off alongside paid parental leave and holiday benefits
  • Professional membership and veterinary dues support
  • Structured mentorship available for veterinarians developing their clinical confidence
  • Pet care benefits provided as part of the wider employment package
  • Signing incentive may be available depending on experience and overall package structure
  • Strong clinical autonomy supported by an experienced veterinary team
