Diagnostic resources include ultrasound, endoscopy, digital radiography and therapeutic laser equipment, with visiting board-certified specialists in cardiology, surgery and ultrasonography providing additional expertise. Registered veterinary technicians also oversee hospitalised patients overnight, ensuring continuity of nursing care beyond regular clinical shifts.
The position offers flexible full-time and part-time working opportunities within a busy setting operating seven days a week. In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Develop individualised treatment plans for patients presenting with routine, complex and time-sensitive medical conditions.
- Coordinate with veterinary technicians to ensure appropriate monitoring, treatment and continuity of care for hospitalised animals.
- Perform diagnostic assessments and surgical procedures according to clinical experience and individual patient requirements.
- Communicate clearly with pet owners regarding diagnostic findings, available treatment options and ongoing healthcare recommendations.
- Collaborate with visiting specialists and fellow clinicians when managing cases requiring additional expertise.
Qualifications Needed:
- A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent qualification recognised for veterinary practice in California.
- Eligibility to hold a California veterinary licence in good standing.
- Sound clinical judgement when assessing companion animals and prioritising patients requiring urgent intervention.
- An interest in expanding expertise across surgery, internal medicine, dentistry or exotic animal care.
- A considerate communication style and commitment to maintaining professional veterinary standards.
