Small Animal Associate Veterinarian Job, Denver, Colorado, USA

Small Animal Associate Veterinarian Job, Denver, Colorado, USA

Job Description: Our client is recruiting an experienced Small Animal Associate Veterinarian for a full-time role scheduled to become available in summer 2027. Located in Denver’s Sloan Lake neighbourhood, the hospital offers a strong community presence, a loyal client base, and an environment where veterinarians are trusted to take ownership of their clinical decisions.

This position combines relationship-led general practice with a varied medical and surgical caseload. The successful candidate will oversee patients from initial consultation through diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up, while working closely with skilled technical and support colleagues. More challenging cases can be discussed collaboratively, giving the veterinarian access to additional clinical insight without limiting professional autonomy.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Manage a varied schedule of small animal consultations.
  • Assess clinical signs and determine suitable diagnostic pathways.
  • Plan and deliver treatment for acute and ongoing medical conditions.
  • Provide vaccinations, wellness screening, and preventative health advice.
  • Undertake routine soft tissue surgery and dental procedures within your experience.
  • Review investigation results and adapt treatment plans when necessary.
  • Guide clients through diagnoses, care options, prognosis, and home management.
  • Coordinate efficiently with technicians, assistants, and reception colleagues.
  • Refer or seek additional clinical input when a case requires broader expertise.
  • Ensure all patient notes, prescriptions, and treatment records are completed accurately.
  • Support a calm, professional, and compassionate hospital environment.

Package:

  • Full-time employment beginning in summer 2027.
  • Base salary supplemented by monthly production earnings with no negative accrual.
  • Paid professional development leave and an annual continuing education budget.
  • Access to structured mentoring, career planning, and leadership development.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance options.
  • Employer-supported 401(k) retirement savings.
  • Professional liability insurance funded by the employer.
  • Income protection through short-term and long-term disability coverage.
  • Paid maternity leave for qualifying employees.
  • Twenty-four-hour virtual healthcare services.
  • Additional clinical guidance available for difficult or unusual presentations.
  • Scope to pursue advanced interests while remaining in general practice.
