Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced small animal medical director veterinarian to lead a purpose-built general practice clinic with a passionate and well-supported team. This role would suit a confident clinician with strong general practice capability, a positive leadership style, and the ability to mentor less experienced team members while remaining hands-on with daily clinical work.
The position offers the chance to work alongside an experienced Practice Manager, support a high standard of patient and client care, and help guide the continued growth of the clinic. Full-time hours are preferred, with part-time considered for the right veterinarian.
In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading by example across consultations, surgery, case management, and daily clinical standards
- Mentoring veterinary nurses and team members through practical knowledge-sharing
- Supporting strong client relationships through clear communication and professional service
- Working with the Practice Manager to guide smooth clinic performance and workflow
- Encouraging a positive team culture through collaboration, support, and regular learning
Qualifications Needed:
- Veterinary Science degree from an accredited university
- Registration with the relevant state Veterinary Board
- Minimum 3 years of experience in small animal general practice
- Confidence across all aspects of hands-on general practice work
- Leadership or mentoring experience preferred
