Job Description: Our client is seeking a Small Animal Associate Veterinarian to join a well-established first-opinion setting with a strong emphasis on compassionate care, continuity, and client relationships. The position includes sole-charge responsibilities, making it particularly well suited to a veterinarian who enjoys clinical autonomy, taking ownership of cases, and managing a varied small animal caseload with confidence.
The successful veterinarian will have the opportunity to practise independently while still benefiting from experienced clinical support when needed. In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing consultations, diagnostic investigations, treatment planning, and follow-up care
- Taking responsibility for sole-charge clinical decision-making when required
- Providing preventative, medical, and surgical care across a varied small animal caseload
- Educating clients clearly on diagnoses, treatment options, and ongoing healthcare
- Working collaboratively with support colleagues to maintain efficient patient care
Qualifications Needed:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent qualification
- Eligibility for veterinary registration in British Columbia
- Confidence working independently and managing cases with appropriate clinical judgement
- Strong communication skills with a client-focused and compassionate approach
- Commitment to continued professional development and high standards of patient care
