Job Description: Our client is seeking a part-time Small Animal Associate Veterinarian to join a supportive and well-equipped practice, working 15 hours per week across two days. This role is ideal for an experienced veterinarian who values work-life balance, enjoys a varied caseload, and wants to continue developing in a collaborative clinical environment.
The position offers exposure to routine and complex small animal cases, emergency presentations, dental work, imaging, and opportunities to learn alongside visiting specialists. You will usually work with another veterinarian and be supported by an experienced nursing and reception team, with occasional sole charge shifts where required.
In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing small animal consultations, treatment plans, diagnostics, and routine procedures
- Supporting surgical, dental, emergency, and medical cases across a varied caseload
- Working closely with nurses to ensure smooth workflow and strong patient care
- Taking part in case discussions, clinical learning, and continued professional development
- Building long-term client relationships through clear communication and compassionate care
Qualifications Needed:
- BVSc or equivalent qualification with eligibility to practise in Australia
- Three or more years of veterinary experience preferred
- Strong hands-on clinical ability across consulting, medicine, and routine procedures
- Interest in low-stress handling, patient behaviour, hygiene standards, and calm clinical care
- Collaborative approach with accountability, reliability, and a positive team mindset
