Job Description: Our client is seeking a full-time Small Animal Associate Veterinarian to join a collaborative companion animal hospital in Battle Ground. The hospital provides access to advanced services including laparoscopic procedures and acupuncture, giving the incoming veterinarian opportunities to broaden their clinical exposure. Hands-free radiology standards are followed, and Fear-Free approaches are used wherever possible to support safer, calmer patient care.

In this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assess and treat dogs and cats presenting for both preventative and illness-related care.
  • Perform routine consultations, vaccinations, health checks, and ongoing wellness planning.
  • Investigate medical concerns using appropriate diagnostic testing and imaging.
  • Develop practical treatment plans and discuss available options with pet owners.
  • Carry out surgical and dental procedures suited to your training and experience.
  • Follow hands-free radiology protocols and established workplace safety practices.
  • Use Fear-Free handling methods whenever appropriate for the patient.
  • Work collaboratively with veterinarians, technicians, and support colleagues.
  • Maintain clear, accurate, and timely clinical documentation.
  • Monitor case progress and arrange suitable follow-up care.
  • Participate in knowledge sharing and contribute to a positive hospital culture.
  • Support the delivery of consistent, ethical, and compassionate veterinary medicine.
  • Qualifications Needed:
  • Ability to work confidently within a collaborative clinical team.
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or an equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Current Washington veterinary licence in good standing or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Commitment to upholding the veterinary profession’s ethical standards.
  • Strong client communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Interest in managing a balanced mix of wellness and medical cases.
  • Compassionate and patient-centred approach to animal care.
  • Enthusiasm for continuing education and expanding clinical capabilities.
  • Dependable, professional, and adaptable working style.

Package:

  • Access to a newly constructed, state-of-the-art hospital.
  • Paid continuing education days with an annual CE allowance.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance for eligible employees.
  • Opportunities to gain exposure to laparoscopic procedures and acupuncture.
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer matching.
  • Paid parental leave, vacation leave, and sick leave.
  • Employee mental health and financial wellbeing resources.
  • Access to extensive veterinary education and training programmes.
  • Potential eligibility for additional variable compensation.
  • Opportunities to participate in clinical research programmes.
  • Employee discounts on veterinary services and pet care.
  • Full-time schedule across weekday and Saturday hospital hours.
