Ophthalmologist Specialist Veterinarian Job, Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA

Job Description: Our client is seeking a Veterinary Ophthalmologist to join a highly advanced hybrid hospital providing both primary and specialty care. The position offers the opportunity to practise complex ophthalmic medicine within a multidisciplinary setting alongside specialists in emergency and critical care, internal medicine, oncology, cardiology, and surgery. Diagnostic and imaging capabilities include a 128-slice CT scanner, MRI, multiple ultrasound machines, and a linear accelerator for radiation therapy. There is also an established rotating internship program, providing opportunities for specialists who enjoy teaching and mentoring developing veterinarians.

Qualifications Needed:

  • Veterinary degree recognised for specialist practice in the USA
  • Board certification or appropriate advanced training in veterinary ophthalmology
  • New Mexico veterinary licensure in good standing or eligibility to obtain the required licence
  • Advanced ophthalmic diagnostic, medical, and surgical capabilities
  • Collaborative communication skills with an interest in multidisciplinary case management and mentorship

Package:

  • Advanced 35,000-square-foot specialty and referral facility
  • Access to CT, MRI, ultrasound, endoscopy, and extensive surgical resources
  • Opportunity to collaborate with specialists across multiple veterinary disciplines
  • Continuing education allowance with paid professional development days
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer matching
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance options
  • Paid parental, vacation, and sick leave
  • Professional liability, life, and disability insurance coverage provided
