Job Description: An exciting full-time opportunity is available for a Board-Certified or Residency-Trained Veterinary Medical Oncologist to join a well-established specialty referral hospital delivering Surgery, Critical Care, and 24-hour Emergency Services. This role offers the chance to practice advanced oncology within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment that is committed to innovation in patient care and ongoing clinical research.
You will work alongside a team of specialists in a facility outfitted with modern diagnostic and therapeutic equipment including Sound Digital Radiology units, Storz Endoscopy suite, Samsung ultrasound technology, DRE Volumax Oxygen System, and ventilator-assisted oxygen therapy. The hospital promotes a team-oriented approach to case management and supports knowledge-sharing through mentorship and education initiatives.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Managing oncology consultations, diagnostics, and treatment plans
- Providing chemotherapy and other advanced cancer therapies
- Collaborating with specialty teams for integrated patient care
- Interpreting diagnostic imaging and laboratory results
- Communicating effectively with clients regarding treatment options
- Maintaining detailed patient records and medical documentation
- Participating in clinical research and continuing education efforts
Qualifications Needed:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or VMD degree or equivalent
- Board Certified Veterinary Oncologist or Residency Trained Veterinarian
- Active DEA license or eligibility to obtain
- Valid veterinary license in the state of Florida (or ability to obtain)
- Strong interpersonal and clinical decision-making skills
