Job Description: Our client is seeking a newly qualified or recently graduated veterinarian to begin their career in a varied mixed animal position. The successful candidate will work with companion and production animals while receiving practical guidance from experienced veterinary professionals committed to developing graduate confidence.
This permanent, full-time opportunity provides exposure to consultations, medical investigations, routine procedures and surgery across a diverse caseload. The position is well suited to a curious and compassionate veterinarian who is eager to strengthen their clinical judgement, establish lasting client relationships and gradually progress towards independent practice.
In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing attentive veterinary care to companion and production animal patients
- Examining cases and preparing appropriate treatment plans with senior guidance
- Developing practical surgical and medical skills through supervised procedures
- Communicating clearly with farmers, pet owners and clinical colleagues
- Building the confidence required to manage cases with increasing independence
Qualifications Needed:
- Bachelor of Veterinary Science or an equivalent qualification recognised in New Zealand
- Eligibility for registration and an Annual Practising Certificate with the Veterinary Council of New Zealand
- A genuine enthusiasm for developing a career in mixed animal practice
- Compassionate communication skills and a cooperative working style
- A resilient, inquisitive approach with a strong willingness to continue learning
