Mixed Animal Associate Veterinarian Job, St. Claude, Manitoba, Canada

Mixed Animal Associate Veterinarian Job, St. Claude, Manitoba, Canada

Job Description: Our client is seeking a compassionate and adaptable Veterinarian to join a welcoming rural veterinary practice offering the flexibility to develop a clinical role around individual interests and experience. This opportunity is particularly suited to veterinarians who enjoy the diversity of mixed animal medicine or wish to concentrate primarily on companion animal healthcare. Both experienced clinicians and recent graduates are encouraged to apply, with a supportive working environment that values professional independence, collaboration and excellent standards of patient care.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to undertake a varied caseload according to their clinical preferences, combining preventative medicine, medical consultations and practical veterinary treatments across their chosen areas of interest. Experienced colleagues provide professional guidance and mentorship for developing veterinarians, while established practitioners can contribute their own expertise and pursue areas of particular clinical interest. Flexible working arrangements and an emphasis on maintaining a sustainable work-life balance make this an appealing opportunity for those seeking a rewarding veterinary career within a friendly rural community.

In this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide compassionate veterinary care for companion animals and, where appropriate, production animal patients.
  • Develop appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans while maintaining clear communication with animal owners.
  • Work cooperatively with veterinary colleagues to ensure effective case management and high standards of animal welfare.
  • Contribute to preventative healthcare programmes, routine clinical procedures and ongoing patient monitoring.
  • Participate in professional knowledge sharing and mentorship activities according to individual experience.

Qualifications Needed:

  • Recognised veterinary degree with current eligibility for registration and professional practice in Manitoba.
  • An interest in small animal or mixed animal veterinary medicine, with flexibility to develop preferred clinical areas.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish trusted relationships with clients and veterinary colleagues.
  • Confidence in practical clinical decision-making appropriate to experience, with mentorship available for recent graduates.
  • A compassionate approach to animal welfare and enthusiasm for continued professional development.

Package:

  • Flexible veterinary position allowing clinical responsibilities to be shaped around individual experience and professional interests.
  • Mentorship opportunities for newly qualified veterinarians, alongside a welcoming environment for experienced practitioners.
  • Choice of companion animal-focused work or broader mixed animal clinical responsibilities.
  • Supportive colleagues encouraging shared clinical knowledge, professional communication and collaborative decision-making.
  • Working arrangements designed to promote a healthy balance between veterinary commitments and personal life.
  • Opportunities to establish lasting relationships with animal owners and agricultural clients within a rural community.
  • Professional freedom to develop clinical interests and strengthen practical veterinary expertise.
  • An inclusive and approachable working atmosphere where individual contributions are valued.
  • Opportunity to build a long-term career in a welcoming community with a rewarding variety of veterinary cases.
