Mixed Animal Associate Veterinarian Job, Lloydminster, Alberta, Canada

Job Description: Our client is seeking a full-time Mixed Animal Veterinarian to join a well-established practice with a caseload split approximately 60% companion animal and 40% large animal work. The position offers genuine variety, covering small animal medicine alongside cattle, small ruminants, equine, elk and bison cases, making it a strong fit for a veterinarian who enjoys both clinic-based and ambulatory work.

The successful candidate will be involved in routine and emergency care, herd health programmes, pregnancy diagnosis, bull breeding soundness evaluations and on-farm services, while also managing companion animal consultations and diagnostics. The hospital is equipped with dental radiography, ultrasound, digital radiology and a comprehensive in-house laboratory, providing strong support for both medical and surgical case management.

Qualifications Needed:

  • DVM degree or equivalent veterinary qualification
  • Interest and capability across both companion and large animal medicine
  • Strong communication skills with a client-focused approach
  • Established practical and technical veterinary skills
  • Adaptable, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to continue learning

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a varied caseload across companion and production animal medicine
  • Provide in-clinic and on-farm veterinary services
  • Deliver herd health programmes and reproductive services
  • Participate in daily emergency veterinary care
  • Build strong working relationships with clients across both pet and livestock sectors
