Mixed Animal Associate Veterinarian Job, Fort St. John, British Columbia, Canada

Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced mixed animal veterinarian who thrives on a varied caseload encompassing predominantly small animal care with meaningful contributions to beef and equine practice. In this role you’ll work collaboratively within a long-established team providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and preventative services to pets and livestock throughout the Peace Country.

The successful candidate will enjoy applying broad clinical skills across species, managing wellness visits, complex diagnostics, routine surgeries, and herd health planning, as well as supporting beef cattle and equine patients. You’ll partner with clients to educate and guide animal care decisions while helping to uphold high standards of service delivery in a supportive environment.

In this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in small animal and large animal consultations and treatments
  • Performing soft tissue and dental surgery procedures for dogs and cats
  • Providing preventative health and herd management advice for beef cattle
  • Conducting equine health evaluations including lameness and dental work

Qualifications Needed:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree
  • Licensure or eligibility for licensure in British Columbia
  • Comfortable with a mixed caseload across species
  • Strong communicator with ability to build rapport with diverse clients
