Mixed Animal Associate Veterinarian Job, Ashburton, Canterbury, New Zealand

Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Mixed Animal Veterinarian with a strong interest in dairy practice to join a progressive and supportive team in a well-established rural clinic. This role offers a balanced and engaging caseload across both production animals and companion animals, providing the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within the local farming community while maintaining involvement in small animal care.

Working within a collaborative environment, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality veterinary services, contributing to herd health management, and supporting the ongoing development of clinical standards. The position also provides opportunities to mentor colleagues and expand your own expertise within a forward-thinking practice that values innovation and continuous improvement. 

Qualifications Needed:  

  • Veterinary degree with eligibility for registration in New Zealand  
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in mixed animal practice  
  • Strong clinical capability across both large and small animal medicine  
  • Interest in leadership or mentoring within a clinical environment  
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
