Job Description: Our client is seeking a Production Animal Veterinarian to support a busy spring season in a dairy-focused rural practice. This role is suited to a vet who enjoys practical ambulatory work, strong producer relationships, and being involved in proactive herd health planning.
The position offers a varied production animal caseload, with a strong focus on dairy cattle and seasonal spring work. You will be supporting farm clients with preventative health, clinical cases, fertility, calf health, lameness, mastitis, and wider herd performance outcomes.
In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing production animal cases across dairy and wider farm clients
- Supporting spring calving work during a busy seasonal period
- Contributing to herd health planning and preventative farm programs
- Assisting with fertility, mastitis, lameness, calf health, and disease investigations
- Working closely with farmers to support practical, outcome-focused animal health
Qualifications Needed:
- Veterinary qualification recognised in Australia
- Production animal or dairy experience preferred
- Confident working in an ambulatory farm setting
- Strong communication skills with farmers and rural clients
- Available for seasonal support from around mid-August to mid-November
