Job Description: Our client is seeking a Senior Large Animal Veterinarian to join a well-established mixed practice serving a diverse rural community. This position offers the opportunity to work within a purpose-built facility that supports both production and companion animal services, delivering high-quality care across a wide range of livestock systems. The role is well suited to an experienced veterinarian who enjoys hands-on farm work combined with advisory responsibilities.

Working closely with a collaborative rural team, you will contribute to herd health planning, reproductive management, and on-farm consultancy. The clinic environment supports strong clinical standards with access to modern resources, while also providing a structured after-hours rota that allows for continuity of care and team support.

Qualifications Needed:  

  • Veterinary degree with eligibility to practice in New Zealand  
  • Proven experience working with production animals  
  • Confidence in both ambulatory and advisory farm work  
  • Strong communication skills with farming clients  
  • Ability to work independently and within a rural team
