  • Providing reproductive healthcare, preventative medicine and seasonal veterinary services to agricultural clients.
  • Building productive relationships with farmers through clear advice and responsive clinical support.
  • Performing appropriate medical and surgical procedures in both routine and challenging field situations.
  • Contributing to herd and flock health planning to improve animal welfare and agricultural productivity.

Qualifications Needed:

  • A BVSc or equivalent veterinary qualification with eligibility to practise in New Zealand.
  • A minimum of four years of experience working with dairy cattle, sheep or beef production systems.
  • Competence in farm animal clinical procedures, disease investigation and surgical techniques.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to veterinary work with strong independent judgement.
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities and a genuine commitment to livestock welfare and client satisfaction.

Package:

  • Professional membership fees for NZVA and annual VCNZ registration fully funded.
  • Temporary accommodation assistance available during the initial settling-in period.
  • Access to valuable employee discounts and additional personal wellbeing benefits.
  • Opportunities to strengthen clinical and advisory expertise alongside experienced rural veterinarians.
  • Chamber of Commerce membership offering savings with participating local retailers.
  • A diverse livestock caseload supporting continued professional development and practical skill enhancement.
  • Dedicated veterinary technician, reception and administrative assistance to support daily clinical work.
  • A collaborative workplace with regular social activities and opportunities for professional interaction.
  • Long-term career advancement opportunities and continued exposure to different areas of livestock medicine.
  • A rewarding rural veterinary position with access to outdoor recreation and a balanced lifestyle.
