Job Description: Our client is seeking a Specialist Equine Surgeon to take on a key clinical role within a fully equipped equine hospital setting. This opportunity is suited to a registered specialist, board-eligible clinician, or highly experienced equine surgeon with strong capability across referral surgery, lameness, performance horse work, and complex clinical decision-making.
Qualifications Needed:
- Veterinary degree recognised in Australia
- Specialist registration, board eligibility, or equivalent advanced surgical training
- Minimum five years of experience in equine surgery
- Strong surgical expertise with a particular interest in lameness and performance horse cases
- Clear communication skills with clients, colleagues, referring veterinarians, and support staff
In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing advanced equine surgical cases across orthopaedic, soft tissue, reproductive, airway, wound, and emergency procedures
- Providing clinical input across lameness investigations, poor performance assessments, neonatal care, and critical medical cases
- Supporting high standards of patient care through sound judgement, collaboration, and consistent case management
- Mentoring colleagues and contributing to clinical development within the wider veterinary team
- Helping shape ongoing clinical initiatives and service growth within a progressive equine hospital environment
