Job Description: Our client is seeking an Emergency & Critical Care Veterinarian to join a highly respected 24/7 veterinary hospital delivering advanced emergency and referral-level care across New Zealand’s South Island. This opportunity offers the chance to work within a collaborative and progressive clinical environment where emergency medicine, innovation, and professional development are strongly supported.

The hospital operates from a purpose-built facility equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical capabilities, providing veterinarians with access to a varied and rewarding emergency caseload. Working alongside experienced ECC clinicians, referral veterinarians, nurses, and support staff, the successful candidate will play an important role in delivering exceptional patient outcomes while continuing to develop their emergency and critical care expertise.

In this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing emergency and critical care cases across a varied small animal caseload
  • Providing high-quality patient assessment, stabilisation, and treatment planning
  • Collaborating closely with referral clinicians, nurses, and support teams
  • Maintaining clear and compassionate communication with pet owners
  • Supporting excellent clinical standards and patient outcomes within the hospital
