Criticalist Specialist Veterinarian Job, Swansea, Massachusetts, USA

Job Description: Our client is seeking a board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Criticalist to join a growing 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital. The successful candidate will manage complex ICU and emergency cases within a 36,000-square-foot facility equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, CT, endoscopy, and advanced oncology technology. This position offers close collaboration with emergency clinicians and specialists while contributing to the continued expansion of critical care services.

Qualifications Needed:

  • DVM, VMD, or an equivalent recognised veterinary qualification
  • Diplomate status with ACVECC or completion of an approved critical care residency
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Massachusetts veterinary licence
  • Strong clinical judgement when managing unstable and critically ill patients
  • Collaborative communication skills and a commitment to excellent patient care

In this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Direct advanced treatment plans for hospitalised and critically ill patients
  • Coordinate complex cases with emergency clinicians and specialty colleagues
  • Oversee patient progress through detailed assessments and ongoing monitoring
  • Communicate diagnostic findings and treatment options clearly to pet owners
  • Contribute clinical expertise to the development of expanding specialty services
