Job Description: Our client is seeking a board-certified, board-eligible, or residency-trained Veterinary Criticalist to join a busy 24-hour emergency and specialty referral hospital. The position involves providing advanced care to critically ill and hospitalised patients within a newly developed ICU featuring dedicated isolation wards, oxygen cages, mechanical ventilation, telemetry, quiet recovery areas, and comprehensive monitoring equipment.
The successful candidate will collaborate with experienced emergency veterinarians, boarded specialists, house officers, and highly trained technicians. This opportunity also offers meaningful involvement in clinical teaching and access to sophisticated diagnostic resources, including CT, MRI, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, endoscopy, laparoscopy, and digital radiography.
Qualifications Needed:
- DVM, VMD, or an equivalent recognised veterinary qualification
- Board certification, board eligibility, or completed residency training in Emergency and Critical Care
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Rhode Island veterinary licence
- Strong clinical judgement when managing unstable and complex patients
- Clear communication skills and enthusiasm for collaborative teaching
