Small Animal Vet Surgeon Job, Highlands & Islands, Scotland

Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon Job, Highlands & Islands, Scotland

Job Details: Our client is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join their team.

They are looking for an enthusiastic and adventurous vet to join their fabulous team! They are a good mix of experienced and Junior vets and are looking for someone confident in managing their own interesting caseload. They would happily support and encourage certificate aspirations. Confident sole charge and emergency work is advantageous but equally important is being a small animal GP vet with good knowledge and experience of first opinion surgical/medical caseloads. You would ideally work a 32-hour, 4-day week and a share of the week nights and weekends on-call on a rota basis. This is a busy practice but is able to give time off to enjoy all that the famous Scottish Highlands has to offer.

A Bonus scheme is in place for OOH call outs as well as the Friday off following a weekend. They work a shared OOH rota of 1 in 6/1 in 7. Weekends are shared with the neighbouring practice so currently a 1 in 12 full weekends.

The people are at the heart of everything that they do, that’s why they know that work-life balance is vital in supporting their people to be their best selves. The flexible approach to rota patterns and working hours offers a balance that truly flexes with you and your lifestyle no matter what stage you are in your career.

As a Small Animal General Practice with RCVS practice standards, they have a full range of in-house lab equipment, digital X-ray including dental X-ray in their dental suite, Video-endoscope, Ultrasound, ECG as well as laparoscopic equipment for their Keyhole spays.

They are a busy first opinion small animal practice, seeing a large and varied caseload.

They are a friendly team of 6 FT (1 Cert AVP) and 2 PT Vets, 9 nurses and an excellent reception and support team.

Must be MRCVS registered, experience is preferred but not essential as their team will be on hand to provide support. You will be a team player, have an approachable manner, and have good communication skills. Must have car and full driving licence. They offer full support and funding should you wish to obtain further certification in a specialist area.

Package:

• Increasing holiday allowance based on length of service
• Private medical insurance
• Enhanced family-friendly policies, including maternity/paternity/adoption/shared parental and surrogacy pay
• Cycle to Work scheme
• £1,200 CPD allowance with 40 hours paid pro rata
• All their Vets get £1000 per annum to spend via their Care Fund
• VDS cover
• Pension – 5% Employee/3% Employer
• Discounted staff pet care
