Small Animal Vet Surgeon Job, Merseyside, England

Small Animal Vet Surgeon Job, Merseyside, England

Job Details: Our clients are looking for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join their team based in Merseyside! They appreciate that everyone’s circumstances are different, because of this they’re happy to offer flexibility with hours, duties and where you’ll be based.

A full-time role would involve working from 9:00am to 6:30pm with two scheduled gaps for catching up with admin. They offer their Vets the choice of working 4 full days (8.5 hours) with 1 weekday off or 3 full and 2 half days (4 hours), their full time roles equate to just over 35 hours per week. As mentioned above, they value their teams’ work-life balance and understand how important it is to provide different options to suit individual needs. The
Vets currently work 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (consults only). Whilst they don’t offer an out-of-hours service, they occasionally accept stable overnight inpatients for intravenous fluid therapy. Ideally they’re looking for a candidate to cover operations & consults, however they can support consults only if you’d prefer. The surgical team spends their time equally split between their two sites. They’re more than happy to base you at one site if you’d prefer that.

The clinics are equipped with radiography, ultrasonography, tonometry, microscopy, full laboratory, dedicated inpatient wards, operating theatres, and consulting rooms.

They are a close-knit team that prides themselves in delivering excellent patient care. Between their 2 clinics they have 8 Veterinary Surgeons, 5 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 1 Student Veterinary Nurse, 3 Veterinary Care Assistants and 3 Receptionists. The practice cat, Cham, is a much-loved part of their team and an excellent lunch break lap warmer. They work closely with local rescue centres and hold team events to raise money for charity. Most
recently, they walked 1 million steps in 7 days to raise money for Vet Life! One of the benefits of working with them is that you’ll have your rota confirmed for the year ahead, they like their staff to have consistency with their working weeks so you’ll always have the same day off.

Suitable candidates should be confident performing routine surgeries such as neuters, dentals, and mass removals. Good communication skills are essential along with sharing their core values and being a team player. They should be RCVS registered.

Package:

• 6.6 weeks holiday (including bank holidays)
• Increasing holiday allowance based on length of service
• Private medical insurance
• Enhanced family-friendly policies, including
maternity/paternity/adoption/shared parental and surrogacy pay
• Cycle to Work scheme
• £1250 CPD allowance paid over 5 days
• All their Vets get £1000 per annum to spend via their Care Fund
• VDS cover
• Pension – 5% Employee/3% Employer
• Discounted staff pet care
