Small Animal Vet Surgeon Job, Leicestershire, England

Small Animal Vet Surgeon Job, Leicestershire, England

Job Details: If you are looking for an exciting new role and the opportunity to grow your career, then we have the perfect role for you at our clients practice based in Leicestershire.

This is an ideal role for a vet who is either ready to take the next step in their career into a lead role, or who are already in a similar position and are wanting a new challenge and to gain more experience.

They would also consider a new graduate veterinary surgeon who would be enrolled onto their 2 year new graduate programme – alongside the programme you will have weekly meetings with their JVP/senior vet to help guide and support you.

If experienced, you will ideally be confident with all routine surgical and medical cases and enjoy variety within your role. An interest in orthopaedics would be advantageous, but not essential. You should be keen to take on a supportive role and demonstrate key skills including building strong relationships with clients, patients and the wider team.

This is a full time position, 40 hours per week, and a rota basis and there is no OOHs.

You will be working alongside the 2 practice Partners and a friendly team of 5 Vets, 7 Nurses, two student nurses and 2 Animal Care Assistants.

They are a small animal practice with a high caseload of exotics. The practice is modern and spacious with state of the art equipment including digital X-ray, in-house laboratory, and ultrasound and multi parameter.

If you share our clients passion for delivering outstanding pet healthcare and great customer service and would like to join their team, we would love to hear from you!

Package:

  • Bank holiday rota is shared equally 3/4 per year
  • Salary starts at £31,000 for new graduates – this is reviewed annually
  • Salary for an experienced vet in dependant on experience – this can be discussed on interview
  • 4.6 weeks annual holiday, raising to 5.6weeks after 2 year service
  • £1,500 CPD allowance – CPD is encouraged
  • RCVS/VDS fees paid
  • No sole charge or out of hours
  • Large exotic case load – increasing steadily as only local exotic vets
  • Exotic equipment on site
  • Vet undertaking Exotic Certificate currently
  • New Graduate programme including day release CPD and new grad webinars as part of the programme
