Job Details: Our client is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join their team based in Lancashire.
The close-knit team is looking for an experienced veterinary surgeon to join their growing practice, with shifts across both their locations, which are located 10 minutes from each other.
They have a high volume, varied caseload with ample opportunity for surgery as well as consulting. They all provide support for each other in the areas they are most experienced in and have a very collaborative approach to work.
They cover their own OOH (from home) to provide their clients with continuity of care and high standard service, supported by a nurse. Out of hours are paid on top of the salary, and they offer a birthday day off! A full time role
would involve working 39.8 hours per week. Shifts are 08:30 – 19:00, with OOH’s are negotiable and candidates that don’t want to participate in such will still be considered.
The people are at the heart of everything that they do, that’s why they know that work-life balance is vital in supporting their people to be their best selves. The flexible approach to rota patterns and working hours offers a balance that truly flexes with you and your lifestyle no matter what stage you are in your career.
The standard 20-minute consults allow for good client communication and proper work up. The day off per week can be a rotating or a set day off depending on preference.
Both their locations have digital radiography, Idexx laboratory equipment, dental equipment, including dental x-ray at Hambleton, an endoscope, ultrasound and a K-laser.
The team consists of eight (multinational) vets, seven RVN’s, a student nurse, two nursing assistants and fifteen reception and admin staff who keep everything running in the back- and foreground.
They get regular visits from a local cardiologist, and sometimes have a visiting surgical or orthopaedic specialist join them for cases.
They pride themselves on continuously improving, hence they encourage CPD and they will support you if you’re wanting to pursue certificates or memberships, with one of their vets currently finishing a medicine certificate.
They hold weekly meetings with a 4-week rotating theme, consisting of Whole team meeting, Individual team meeting, Continuing improvement and Significant events meeting and a Training meeting. This protected time allows them all to stay in touch, learn together and from each other and gives them all insight and input in the direction their clinic is taking.
They support local charities and engage in local charity events, and encourage their team members to do so too. They’ve recently returned from their most recent team event, they played Curling!
Experience is required for this role, and empathy and excellent communication skills are essential.
Interest in orthopaedics, dermatology or ophthalmology would be desirable but is definitely not essential, they have the caseload to support these areas if you wish to pursue certificates or memberships in these areas. They provide a supportive environment for all their team members and are looking for someone as passionate as they are, to join their team.
