Job Details: Are you looking for a supportive environment where you are encouraged to explore your interests? If so, our clients based in Glasgow & Strathclyde have the perfect opportunity for you!
Their team is led by their practice owner who is also a veterinary surgeon, and is made up of 7 Vets, 6 Nurses (including 1 SVN), a Practice Manager and 4 Client Care Advisors. They have a wealth of experience in their vet team and have one team member just starting an imaging certificate. Since opening in 2017 they have grown into a thriving practice with a loyal client base resulting in a wide variety of cases coming through to them. In addition, they welcome a visiting orthopaedic surgeon where needed so whatever your clinical interest, or if you want to start or continue a certificate, they can support this.
In practice they run standard 15-minute consults, which are extended to 30 minutes for those more complicated cases, and they also schedule in regular slots to enable you to catch up and do paperwork. They finish consults early to make sure their team can leave on time and if you don’t, they offer paid overtime. They utilise the skills of their nursing team, which includes a certificate holder, who undertake clinics and schedule 3 procedures helping to relieve the pressure on their Vets so they can focus on other aspects of the role. They hold clinical meetings twice weekly giving opportunity to discuss cases and ensure they are working the best way possible for themselves and their patients.
They are open to both full and part time candidates working between 25-40 hours per week, with 1 in 4 weekends, of which the Sunday would be sole charge. When working sole charge there will always be support available at the end of the phone and they have subscription to VetCT radiography support. A full-time position involves working a 4-day week, with a fixed day off and a long weekend (Friday off) after your weekend working. While they can accommodate a consult biased role, you maybe required to do surgery at the weekend so will need to feel confident with this.
No OOH’s or on call is required. This is fixed term contract to cover one of our vet’s maternity leave which is due to start in June 2023.
If you share our clients passion for delivering outstanding pet healthcare, great customer service and would like to join their team we would love to hear from you!
