Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon (minimum 8 years in practice) ideally with a passion for orthopaedics to join their thriving 24-hour hospital. This full-time role offers a 4-day workweek (10-hour shifts) with 1 in 6 full weekends.

The hospital is set on its own large grounds in a beautiful rural location, surrounded by woodlands, offering a peaceful and picturesque environment. As the region’s 24-hour hospital, it sees a varied and exciting caseload, making it an excellent opportunity for a skilled vet with a surgical bias and interest in orthopaedics.

The clinic boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including:

  • Digital and dental radiography
  • Multiparameter anaesthetic monitors
  • Endoscopy and bronchoscopy
  • Full in-house laboratory
  • CT scanner
  • Two surgical theatres
  • Separate cat waiting area, cat and dog wards, and an isolation facility

You will be joining a highly skilled and supportive team, including 3 night vets, 7 day vets, 6 RVNs, 1 SVN, 4 VCAs, and 5 CCAs.

In this position, your responsibilities will include: 

  • Provide exceptional veterinary care during consultations and surgeries.
  • Lead orthopaedic and advanced surgical cases within the practice.
  • Collaborate with a supportive and experienced team to deliver outstanding care.
  • Contribute to the clinic’s positive culture and progressive clinical practices.
  • Support and mentor colleagues to enhance team performance.
