Job Details: Large 10,000 sqft emergency hospital facility servicing the Barrie and surrounding areas. They have 8 DVMs/locums on staff, always 2-3 DVMs working at one time. Looking for a DVM who likes emergencies, surgery and internal medicine.
The Medical Director is a wonderful mentor, he worked as an emergency DVM in Romania and moved here to practice emergency medicine and has been medical director for the past 10 years. He loves surgeries, is very calm and a great leader!
They have 17 technicians on staff supporting the DVM teams.
Team:
- 12 DVMs on rotation – 1.5 DVMs during day shifts, 2 DVM during night shifts, 3 DVM for weekends and holidays
- 18 RVTs on rotation – Always 2 Triage (appointments), 1 in patient, 1 Treatment/Surgical, 1 Lead floater technician
- 20 VAs on rotation – Always 1 per RVT working
- 5 Receptionists on rotation – Always 2 working together
Equipment: Digital X-ray, ultrasound, oxygen therapy
Mentorship: The Medical Director loves to mentor in all areas, examinations/communication, radiology, ultrasound and any soft tissue surgeries! He came to Canada as a foreign trained DVM and went through the NEB process so he is happy to help someone with that process as well.
