Type of Work: Associate Vet Surgeon

Job Details: Our client in Queensland are looking for a small animal Vet Surgeon to join their team. They would like someone who is a dedicated and passionate veterinarian who is willing to devote their time to the care and well-being of all animals.

They provide specific, higher skilled treatments for their clients and are looking for an experienced vet that wants to focus on in-depth medical workups or interesting cases or wants to expand their skill set in certain areas. You will still be able to do surgery if you would like to keep your hand in – but it’s not a must.

This modern all-inclusive clinic offers cutting edge diagnostics, expertise, and professional service. It is led by a fantastic Vet who has 20 years’ experience and extensive knowledge in orthopaedics, soft tissue, reconstruction and reproduction. They have a high caseload of interesting patients, including Brachycephalic breeds, complex medical cases and reproduction.

Our client have everything and more than most, full in-house pathology, x-ray, dental, ultrasound, endoscope, and much, much more – They invest heavily in their staff and equipment which allows them to do more in house.

Flexible roster – you can choose short days or long days whatever works for you. They are open Mon-Fri 8am – 5:30pm, currently closed on weekends. Our client offer consultations by appointment and accommodate emergency appointments during opening hours only. You will be required to work a flexible 4-day working week. 

They will work with you to determine what your days may look like – if you prefer medical workups or interesting cases or want to expand your skills in a certain area, let them know and they will try their hardest to accommodate this. 

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) or an equivalent degree recognised in Australia
  • Worked in a veterinary clinic – both consultive and surgical
  • An ability to work with fellow team members and build rapport with clients
  • A positive ‘can do’ & friendly attitude
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
