Registered Vet Nurse Job, Buckinghamshire, England

Registered Vet Nurse Job, Buckinghamshire, England

Job Details: Our clients are looking to grow their team and would like Registered Veterinary Nurses to join on a full-time or part time basis.

Each morning the clinical team attends ward round that last approximately 15 minutes. The theatre nurse for the shift often leads the meeting by introducing each patient and procedure and then discussing who will be performing the procedure, who will be assisting them, when this procedure will likely take place and what medications/ pre-meds will be required. This forms the plan of the day for the team. They also present the teams for the day- who they have, what times they are working and in which department. They discuss any inpatients they may have and who will be looking after them. The inpatients are discussed in more depth between the case vet and the wards nurse after rounds.

They offer a good all-around experience for their Nurses so everyone gets the chance to work in the different areas such as theatre, wards, and nurse clinics. Their Nurses are extremely valuable to them and they encourage them to use all of their knowledge and skills to the best of their abilities so they give them areas of responsibility in their chosen area of interest. These roles may include the exciting opportunity for some sole charge responsibilities. These include taking charge of stock levels, daily running and promoting growth of the branch.

Their flexible approach to rota patterns and working hours truly tips the scale on your work life balance. They know that everyone has demands and priorities outside of their career and they want to make it easier for you to strike the right balance. Whether you are looking to fix or flex your work patterns, they can find the right solution for you.

The rota is over 15 weeks with 2 full weekends (Saturday 8am – 6pm, Sunday 9am – 5pm) and 1 half weekend (Saturday 8am – 4pm). When you work a full weekend, you get the following Friday off in lieu and if you work a half weekend you get a half-day on the following Friday.

They are constantly evolving to suit their patients needs and client’s expectations. They have endoscope, laparoscopic bitch spays, ultrasound scanner, DR and CR Radiography, Class 4 Laser, 4 consult rooms and an in-house Lab. They have lots of members of the veterinary team either engaged in or having achieved certificates in oncology, ophthalmology, physiotherapy, dentistry, anaesthesia, emergency and critical care, orthopaedics, small animal medicine, feline medicine, and dermatology. They also have members of the team with a special interest in animal behaviour and dog training and of course wellbeing.

Their team is made up of 15 Veterinary Surgeons, 18 Registered Veterinary Nurse’s, 7 Student Veterinary Nurse’s, 16 Reception staff. They have an extensive support team made up of a Practice Manager, 2 Clinical Directors, Team Development Manager, Admin Manager, Group Nursing Manager, Clinical Manager, Facilities and Cremations Manager, Insurance Coordinator, Office Secretary, and Office Assistant. All of their Heads of Departments and both of their Clinical Directors run regular catch ups as well.

The successful candidate will need to be a Registered Veterinary Nurse who is looking for a veterinary community in which they can grow and flourish. They will need to be friendly, empathetic, efficient, competent. They are a Veterinary Nurse training centre so an interest in nurse training would be desirable.
